HEKS/EPER
HEKS/EPER, Swiss Church Aid, supports projects designed to combat hunger, poverty and injustice in over 30 countries on four continents. HEKS/EPER also provides worldwide humanitarian assistance for victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts and supports the Church’s diaconal work in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. In Switzerland, HEKS/EPER champions the rights and causes of refugees and socially disadvantaged people. Through its development and social policy work in the fields of climate justice, access to land and food, migration, and integration, HEKS/EPER strives for systemic change – globally and in Switzerland.
With the onset of conflict in Ukraine following the Russian invasion on the 24thof February 2022, 6.5 million Ukrainians (approximately 15% of the population) have been internally displaced while 3.3 million (approximately 8% of the population) have fled to neighboring countries. Major population centers are under siege with civilian infrastructure heavily damaged. Basic commodities are becoming scarce with critical services facing significant strain.
The Finance Manager will provide strategic direction and vision for the Finance projects within the Ukraine response and will support the operational teams.
Therefore, we are looking for a proactive and experienced:
Finance Manager, Ukraine, 100%
Your main responsibilities:
Multi-purpose Finace assistance
- Ensure the internal and external reporting of the project
- Manage ongoing project financial reporting in collaboration
- Collect and verify financial information
Treasury & Cash follow-up
- Keep the registry of cash pay-outs and the cashier’s register
- Record budgetary transfers and keep accounting codes
- Prepare any checks done at base and mission level
- Verify, before recording, that records conform to regulations and procedures of HEKS-EPER Ukraine
- Monitor due dates for payments of contracts
- Check the payment request sent by the programs (cash for rent, self-aid etc..)
Finance Management
- Consolidate of budget follow ups and cash forecasts at base and mission level
- Support the mission on the financial procedures and tools
- Participate in audits or any checks issued by partners or coordination office,
- Carry out end month accounting closure for the program in bank and cash reconciliation, submission of accountancy to HQ (both hard copy and SAGA entries)
- Take active part on the preparation of new budget proposals
- Attend and conduct FMT/MB meeting in monthly bases with program and logistic
Accounting Management
- Record all expenses
- Prepare monthly closing, revision and integrity of accounts for the base
- Issue vouchers, properly archive the Invoices and SAGA vouchers
To be successful you bring:
- University degree in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies)
- Good analytical and writing skills
- Good knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Outlook.Excellent in Excel
- Knowledge of humanitarian actors
- Good management and pedagogical skills
- Willingness and motivation to work in an international and intercultural context
- Fluent in English, (speaking/reading/writing), Russian will be an asset
