General Description of the Organization:
Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population.
Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations by delivering humanitarian and development programs, Food Security, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and sustainability mechanisms.
Orange also collaborates with national and international non-governmental organizations and local initiatives responding to the Syrian humanitarian crisis with capacity development programs to be better equipped with the skills they need to prepare and respond to the affected population’s needs and to ensure that these communities, which we work within, are ready for any future disasters.
Job Purpose:
Orange invites applications for Qualitative Data Analyst for a Research project in Syria. The research aims to review and document learnings from previous implemented projects in Education sector. This is an initial 1-month consultancy with the possibility to extend duration based on performance and availability of fund.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a thematic codebook for generating themes and sub-themes in line with the objectives of the analysis. This will involve producing summaries, abstracts and coding.
- Develop coding notes from the In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and other qualitative data sources.
- Carry out a detailed analysis of the qualitative data collected using NVivo.
- Develop qualitative analysis report that includes a description of results in terms of themes and sub-themes, including but not limited to quotations, examining relationships and patterns between categories and themes, discussion of results, and annex for the final codebook.
- Contribute to the writing of qualitative methods sections for reports or other publications.
- Ensuring the daily upload of the complete data.
- Work with the research team to identify appropriate analytical methods to conduct qualitative analysis accordingly.
- Review qualitative data collected and provide rational recommendations for future improvements.
- Perform other related work as needed.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Social Sciences or equivalent field.
- Proficiency with using NVivo and statistical analysis software packages for data management and analysis.
- At least two years’ experience in qualitative data analysis using content analysis, including the application of conceptual frameworks, codebook development, and coding.
- Experience performing rapid and detailed qualitative analysis.
- Excellent report writing skills and experience in producing high-quality reports on outcomes of qualitative analysis.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Experience working on education and/or social science research projects.
- Understanding of basic concepts of confidentiality and data security.
