The Brooke Hospital for Animals

This is a great opportunity to join the Global Animal Health team within Brooke. We work to strengthen animal health systems for the sustainable improvement of animal welfare, through building the capacity of accessible local animal healthcare providers and increasing access to essential veterinary medicines and vaccines.

We are a truly international team seeking an individual who wants to work alongside global colleagues to deliver high quality training to last mile animal health service providers, so they can provide excellent care to hardworking animals overseas. This position will involve travelling to deliver training and ensure high quality programme design through our unique Animal Health Mentoring Framework. When working within the UK you will support international colleagues on a wide variety of health and welfare related topics alongside developing online training resources and supporting exciting projects such as our work with AgroVets in East Africa and improving access to essential medicines in Ethiopia.

Criteria

You will possess a relevant qualification in veterinary medicine, have an understanding of animal health systems in low resource settings, as well as knowledge of international development needs. You should have a passion for delivering practical veterinary education preferably with an understanding of the difficulties faced by last mile service providers but a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude focused on problem solving is more important than experience in this area. You should be confident and comfortable travelling overseas alone, although you will always be supported by our fantastic in country teams. You must be fluent in spoken and written English with excellent attention to detail.
