Project Coordinator for Project SIGND

The OML Center is looking for a Project Coordinator who will help manage and implement the Center’s “Climate Resilience for the Deaf: Signs for Inclusive Governance and Development” (Project SIGND).

About Project SIGND

In partnership with Deaf-led organizations, and in support of the recommendations of the UN for disability-inclusive climate action (2020), the OML Center embarks on a project entitled “Climate Resilience of the Deaf: Signs for Inclusive Governance and Development.” Called Project SIGND, it aims to increase the preparedness and adaptive capacities of the Deaf to climate-related risks and disasters by increasing access to and participation in hearing-led programs on climate action and DRRM, while strengthening policies and capacitating key policymakers, implementors, Deaf advocates and Hearing champions towards more inclusive governance and resilience building.

With funding from the USAID Disability-inclusive Climate Action (DCA) Fund, Project SIGND is implemented through a grant from the Gerry Roxas Foundation (GRF).

Job Responsibilities

• Understand the project’s objectives and deliver quality work/documents in support of the project’s requirements and the work of all team members, with guidance from the Project Leads
• Provide efficient and high-quality day-to-day administrative, logistical, financial, technical and other related support, which include but not limited to: assisting in the planning, preparation, organization and coordination of logistical requirements of various activities, internally and with relevant external partners, and participating in these activities, as necessary; providing support to documentation and related research and other technical services; assisting in the conduct of canvass and purchases of all procurement requirements, as needed; assisting in the preparation of requests for finance-related transactions; and coordinating with different suppliers
• Develop and update database/s, spreadsheets, inventories, as the situation/need warrants and other appropriate graphic/visual representations needed in reports to standardized format guidelines, including consideration communications and style guide of USAID, GRF and OML Center
• Support the team in the conduct of stakeholder engagement and similar or related activities including the facilitation/co-facilitation of group workshops and conduct of one-on-one interviews/dialogues
• Assist the Project Leads in monitoring and reviewing the reports/deliverables of specialists/ consultants as per project work plans and schedules, including proofreading and reviewing all reports/submissions for the project and helping improve formatting, design and layout of the reports/deliverables
• If necessary or when the situation warrants, propose the use of additional tools/apps and/or processes that can help the project to run efficiently, particularly when it comes to day-to-day administration, logistics, and finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree related to the field
• At least 3 years relevant experience in project management or coordination of similar scale
• Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
• Output-driven with strong communication and relational skills
• Has attention to detail and can work under pressure
• Proactive and able to use own initiative when appropriate
• Ability to create a culture of collaboration focused on professional development

About the OML Center

The OML Center is a non-profit organization, based in the Philippines, born out of a private sector initiative to enhance support for research and innovative solutions towards climate change adaptation and disaster risk management. It is rooted in the principle that science must play a role in building the resilience of communities through actionable knowledge.

Founded in 2012, the OML Center was established in response to the glaring research gap that was alarmingly disproportionate to the climate-related risks and vulnerabilities of the Philippines. The first of its kind in the country, the OML Center continues to be the only privately funded grant-giving non-governmental organization (NGO) doing research-based climate change communications.
