Position Summary

Overview

Long Hill, a public garden, and Trustees of Reservations property in Beverly, is very excited to announce the return of our incredibly popular Halloween event this October (9/29 – 10/29)! The stunning grounds of Long Hill will be filled with autumnal delights including uniquely carved pumpkins, stunning light displays and beautiful fall foliage. As part of this event, we are seeking several freelance artists to help us carve several hundred pumpkins (all fake ones) in a range of styles and to support the design and creation of various Halloween sets. The selected candidates will work directly with the Property Director and Engagement Manager. We have carving sessions every Wednesday and Saturday from 10am – 12pm in August and you’d be welcome to take some pumpkins home and carve them there as well.

Salary: $16 – $17/hour

Essential Functions

Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • Carve as many pumpkins as your hands can handle
  • Support set design through painting and assembling but also creative design
  • Bring a fun spirit
  • Be able to commit to any shifts/times you sign up for
