The Role

Oxfam GB is looking for an Early Years Assistant who can work flexibly across the nursery, supporting staff to care for and educate key groups of children, sometimes in the absence of their key person.

This role is contracted for three days a week (21 hours), but additional hours may be available on an ad hoc basis.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who will be able to work as part of our friendly, professional and dedicated team to provide high standards of care and attention while also providing a stimulating, varied environment. Ideally applicants will have a level two (or higher) qualification in childcare and a genuine interest in working with and helping the development of young children.

They will have experience of working in a childcare setting and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in English.

Unqualified applications will also be considered if they show experience of working in a childcare setting.

We offer a small nursery environment, with consistent working hours (9am to 5pm), open for 50 weeks of the year. 25 days holiday (rising with length of service) plus all bank holidays. Onsite parking and secure bike storage.
