HEKS/EPER
HEKS/EPER, the aid agency of the Protestant Church in Switzerland, supports projects to combat hunger, poverty and injustice in over 30 countries on four continents. HEKS/EPER provides humanitarian aid worldwide for victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts and supports pastoral and charitable activities in eastern Europe and the Middle East. In Switzerland, HEKS/EPER protects the rights and fosters the integration of refugees and socially disadvantaged people and employs around 350 permanent staff, around 600 further employees on a project basis as well as relying on volunteers. HEKS currently has total expenditure of CHF 85 million.
We aim to ensure a high level of quality in relation to effective programme implementation, compliance with international and national standards and professional handling of extraordinary situations. To strengthen and develop our compliance and crisis management systems, we are looking for an experienced, solution-minded person of great integrity as
Compliance & crisis manager, 70% to 80%
Can you keep a cool head in extraordinary situations while also offering both risk management, security and safety experience as well as in-depth specialist knowledge about compliance management? We’re offering the opportunity to help shape the future of our aid agency in a key position.
Your main duties:
- Overall responsibility for the development of the HEKS/EPER compliance framework with theme-specific policies
- Coordination of the internal compliance organisation in cooperation with the various divisions
- Development of security-related risk management at HEKS/EPER
- Case-dependent crisis management and ensuring case handling by internal and, if necessary, external resources
- Process management in the event of serious compliance violations and crises, including effective compliance reporting
- Development, management and training of HEKS-specific crisis organisation
- Development of the external network of theme-specific experts, insurance partners and support professionals as well as proactive networking amongst international and national specialists
Your profile:
- You have several years of experience in the development and implementation of compliance management systems and/or in risk and crisis management of an NGO or in the private sector
- You are highly resilient and cope well under a high workload which can sometimes be emotionally demanding
- You attach great importance to transparent communication and trust-based cooperation with your colleagues and the persons involved in compliance cases
- You are adept at working in fragile contexts and are able to grasp new topics quickly and efficiently. You will ideally possess experience in various cultural contexts
- You will have strong command of written and spoken German, French and English
- You will show great willingness and flexibility, sometimes working at different locations in our programme countries at short notice
