Know our team
Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for Gender Equality Program Officer, PINGS to be based in Dakar, Senegal.
About you
You will have a bachelor’s degree in gender/women’s studies with a focus on health, or in nutrition, public health, or international development with experience and training in gender and development. Minimum of five years’ experience in with NGOs, UN agencies, and/or other service providers in implementing gender-sensitive and/or responsive programming with public health, food security, and/or nutrition-related programs within the Africa Region.
Solid knowledge in experience working in and/or knowledge of maternal nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, adolescent nutrition, and health, women’s economic empowerment programming. Experience using participatory methodologies in training and capacity building, experience with qualitative research methods and results-based management, and experience with emergency response health programs.
Skills in strategic mind sent and problem-solving skills, change management, excellent communication skills, a team player competent IT skills, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Fluent in written and spoken French and English. Knowledge of one local language would be an asset.
