Overview: The Justice Solutions Associate Director serves as the main subject-matter expert on Criminal Justice and Rule of Law. This position is responsible for interacting with Government and Non-Government actors, including high and mid-ranking Public Justice System Officials. This position is also responsible for overseeing personnel assigned to his/her component.
Key Result Areas:
The success of this role is measured by the following KRAs:
- Provide targeted project areas with improved capacity to investigate and prosecute violent crimes.
- Develop and deliver capacity building activities to enhance the ability of prosecutors, judges and other PJS officials to process criminal cases.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to increase equal access to justice for all.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Technical direction, support and leadership:

Provide technical direction and oversight to all matters related to her/his component

Provide technical support and leadership to a team of criminal justice specialists

Develop and implement a work plan for her/his component

Oversee and manage contractors assigned to her/his component
Government relations:
- Serve as liaison with Government counterparts and stakeholders
- Advice the Country Director on potential opportunities to activate stakeholders, partners and relevant actors
M&E and reporting:

Oversee the implementation of M&E processes in her/his component

Assist in preparing performance monitoring plan

Prepares comprehensive reports of her/his component activities and progress
Supervisory:
This position is supervised by the Country Director and supervises a group of approximately six Criminal Justice Specialists.
Education & Experience:
-
Preference for Master’s degree in Criminal Law, Justice or related field.

Bachelor degree in Law OR Bachelor degree in another field IF candidate possess at least 5 years of relevant experience in Rule of Law.

At least 7 years of progressive experience working in organizational development and/or capacity building

At least 5 years of experience in criminal justice, law or related field.

Experience working effectively cross-culturally and across multiple time zones.

Ability to communicate in English preferred but not required
