Background

Aga Khan Foundation is implementing interventions in the districts of Arua, Yumbe, Moyo and Obongi in West Nile region to improve quality of life of people in the marginalized Areas. During these interventions, AKF will conduct several assessments to collect data for planning purposes and will need a group of enumerators to support the process of data collection.

Job description:

Reporting to the M&E Officers, the enumerators will be responsible for data collection and entry.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct research and collect information by assigned methods
  • Appropriate document and report results
  • Complete research/survey/assessment in specific area
  • Travel to designated area and conduct interviews
  • Organize the assessment tool, ensure their safety, and returned it back to the designated supervisor.
  • Check and verify the completed work in the system for accuracy
  • Gather and accurately record responses on questionnaires.
  • Ensure that questionnaires have been thoroughly checked and completed.
  • Submit completed questionnaires/Tablets and other equipment used in fieldwork to the MERL Coordinator and will, if required to do so, compile his/her findings in a format required by the program
  • Take utmost good care of the data collection tablet and other assets that may be provided during this engagement, and return the same at the end of the assignment
  • As part of each assignment, participate in briefings; carry out data collection, data entry and/or reporting.
  • Recognize and give account of problems in obtaining data and provide useful feedback from field research activities

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a diploma in any relevant field
  • Experience in conducting interviews, administering questionnaires, data collection & data entry
  • Must be aware of and sensitive to the cultural expectations of communities within the West Nile region
  • Must be able to record responses accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Demonstrate evidence of an understanding of and commitment to child protection and safeguarding as well as other vulnerable populations.
  • Strong sense of and respect for confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate ability to fluently read and speak one of the relevant local languages Lugbarati, Ariganti and Madi is a must
