Overview of position:

  • CTG is looking to contract an experienced Mobile Storage Unit Technician (MSU Technician) for our operations in South Sudan. Candidates must have the experience as stated below in the TOR.

Role objectives:
Under the direct supervision of Logistics Officer or designate, the MSU Technician shall perform below duties & responsibilities:

  • Assess allocated area / space designated for MSU installation & advise feasibility including drainage etc.
  • Install / dismantle MSUs upon request from the Logistics Officer around South Sudan locations.
  • Perform assessments of installed MSUs, advising required maintenance & repairs.
  • Develop a plan for the maintenance works required including required tools, spares, equipment, manpower & timeline.
  • Maintain daily records for manpower attending works & submit to Country Office (CO) & / or Field Office (FO) locations where works are being carried out.
  • Share knowledge & expertise by bringing efficiency suggestions regarding work processes of MSUs.
  • Train client staff on MSU maintenance, installation & dismantling, as & when requested.
  • Travel around country to assigned locations as advised by the Logistics Officer.
  • Physical inventory of pieces, tools & equipment under their custody at each work assignment before & after works are done.
  • Assist in sorting of MSUs for completeness during receipts & dispatches.
  • Draft mission report for each mission undertaken providing as much details as possible.
  • Any additional tasks, in the scope of mobile storages, as may be required.

Project reporting:

  • This role works under the direct supervision of Logistics Officer or designate.

Key competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable relevant experience.
  • High school graduate. Completed “A” Levels / Secondary School.
  • Completed a full course at technical college, or similar institution with experience gained in Mobile Storage Units (MSU).
  • English is essential.
  • Fluency in Arabic is desirable.

Team management:

  • This role has no team management responsibility.
