Job Purpose

Reliance Foundations Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme aims to improve quality of ECCE for 3-6 year old children, especially in Anganwadi centres. ECCE is one of the newest strategic initiatives of the Foundation, and as part of the newly established ECCE team, all team members will play a key role in establishing, strengthening and expanding the programme across multiple states.

The Programme Manager – ECCE Technology will be responsible for managing the technological innovations for the programme, and working closely with state teams and other programme leads to implement the solutions.

Roles & Responsibility and Outcomes (KPI)

Design (40%)

  • Identify new technology for the ECCE programme, evaluate their appropriateness and feasibility for users
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to understand needs, behaviours, technology adoption etc.
  • Prototype and test new ideas, working with team members and partners
  • Iterate solutions, based on learnings from the field and implementation gaps.
  • Update team and partners about new technology, latest research, evidence-based practices etc.
  • Communicate user needs to technology development partners

Implementation (40%)

  • Support Lead in implementation of projects, and manage the technology-intensive initiatives
  • Coordinate with technology partners to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Build capacity of RF team members and partners to implement the technology initiatives
  • Review the programme periodically, including visiting the field regularly, to understand implementation gaps and work with partners, state teams and other Leads to find solutions.

Documentation (10%)

  • Prepare design documents, technical notes, presentations, RFPs for technology needs etc.
  • Document learnings from implementation, processes, iterations

Other activities (10%)

  • Work with M&E, Communications and Research teams to highlight technology initiatives.
  • Any other responsibilities, as per programme and organizational requirements, as assigned by line manager

Necessary

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post Graduate in Social Sciences/ Social Work/ Education / Engineering / Computer Applications or any related field
  • Graduate in Computer Science / IT / ITES

Desirable

  • Qualification / certification in AI-ML

Necessary

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience of developing technology solutions for the development sector
  • Strong understanding of mobile technologies (apps, database management, content management systems, bots)
  • Strong understanding of Human Centred Design
  • Proficiency in English; working knowledge of Hindi will be an advantage
  • Excellent communication, analysis and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to manage processes and activities in a result-oriented manner and work effectively to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates high levels of empathy, understanding challenges of stakeholders, listening actively and working in a participatory manner.
  • Demonstrates creativity in her/his work, responding flexibly to a changing field situation and devising innovative ways of solving challenges.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with Women and Child Development (WCD) and/or Education departments
  • Knowledge of other state languages, particularly Marathi, Telugu
