Job Title: Outdoor Explorers for All Consultant

Department: Social Impact

Location: Remote/Virtual office within the continental US

Reports to: Program Manager, Outdoor Explorers For All

Position type: Consultant, approximately 20 hours per week through September 30, 2025

Pay: $30 per hour

General Description

The Outdoor Explorers for All Consultant will work directly for the Blue Star Families’ Program Manager, Outdoor Explorers For All to execute and support Blue Star Families’ Outdoor Explorers for All Program. The Consultant assists with communication and administrative tasks related to that program.

Key Job Functions

  • Serve as an internal and external spokesperson for the Outdoor Explorers for All Program
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the Outdoor Explorers for All Program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google suite
  • Project Management system experience or ability to learn new software
  • Collaborate with corporate partners, institutional partners, non-profits, military-support organizations (MSOs), and veterans-service organizations (VSOs) to create cross-sector partnerships and programs as needed
  • Collaborate with the Chapters team to execute virtual and on-the-ground initiatives related to Outdoor Explorers for All Program
  • Support team by performing tasks related to organization, administrative, scheduling, and strong communication
  • Establish and maintain an understanding of Blue Star Families’ strategic goals and their relationship to targets and priorities
  • Develop intentional relationships within Blue Star Families and with external organizations to offer insight and opportunities for change and collaboration
  • Some travel is required to attend meetings, training, events, etc.

Required Experience, Skills, Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or comparable work experience
  • 1-2 years of work experience, preferably with program(s) supporting Outdoors initiatives
  • Ability to produce high-quality work on deadline; comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
