About the TLR Program:

The anticipated Tomorrow’s Leaders Recruitment (TLR) Program will be part of the Tomorrow’s Leaders (TL) Program, a leadership development initiative that provides scholarships to qualified, diverse, underserved students from MENA countries to attend American, nonprofit, independent higher education institutions based in the MENA region. The primary objective of the TL program is to build a cadre of leaders who are civic-minded, intellectually capable, and professionally skilled, to become the community, business, and civic leaders of the future. The program intends to nurture leadership skills and the spirit of civic engagement and volunteerism among participating university-aged students at U.S.-accredited institutions. The TLR Program will conduct outreach and recruitment activities to identify and select eligible students, including candidates who represent the region’s cultural, religious, socioeconomic, and geographic diversity.

Admissions Coordinator Description:

The Admissions Coordinator will serve as the U.S.-based admissions lead for TLR, supporting student recruitment, application process, and selection, as well as preparing students for their studies in Lebanon and/or Egypt. This position is contingent upon program funding.

Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Supports Communication and Marketing Lead with outreach to potential applicants and supports students through the application process.

  • Analyzes and evaluates applications for the TL Program and MENA-region university partners admission (this includes an extensive outreach, application, and matching process).

  • Coordinates applicant interviews with NEA/AC and U.S. Embassy staff, including ensuring interviews are recorded and made available via a secure online portal.

  • Coordinates closely with MENA-region universities for conditional admission or direct admission of students in Undergraduate and Graduate programs.

  • Supports students in taking required standardized tests (e.g., TOEFL, SAT, GRE) and enrolling in/completing supplemental English-language courses (virtual).

  • Ensures logistics are finalized for all selected participants (including assisting students with travel and visa logistics, etc.).

  • Supports the TLR project team in planning and leads the delivery of the virtual pre-departure orientations and college preparatory and leadership workshops for selected participants.

  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on applicant progress and status of conversion rates.

  • Manages application progress and ensures completion of application process.

  • Transmits information about finalists and alternates (applications, supporting documentation, panelist evaluations and recorded interviews) to host universities for admissions decisions.

  • Completes all necessary DOS vetting, visa/passport processes, and reporting processes.

  • Contributes to the revision of program policies and documents, as needed.

  • Collaborates with the TLR project team on administrative and financial processes.

  • Supports compliance with record-keeping protocols and financial tracking to ensure complete and auditable applicant/participant files.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • University degree (Bachelor’s minimum, Master’s preferred) in International Affairs, International Education, International Administration, Middle Eastern Studies, or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional work experience (with international admissions experience preferred).

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with higher education in the U.S. and MENA-region countries (preferred).

  • Knowledge of international education systems and credential evaluation (preferred).

  • Arabic and/or French language skills a plus.

  • Experience with creating and delivering short term training programs (preferred).

  • Ability to problem solve and implement corrective action, as needed.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Ability to build relationships in difficult contexts.

  • Experience in a fluctuating work environment with frequently changing needs and demands.

  • Ability to provide guidance / mentorship to participants with diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and exercise good judgment with selecting methods and techniques to determine appropriate action.

  • Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
