About the TLR Program:
The anticipated Tomorrow’s Leaders Recruitment (TLR) Program is part of the Tomorrow’s Leaders (TL) Program, a leadership development initiative that provides scholarships to qualified, diverse, underserved students from MENA countries to attend American, nonprofit, independent higher education institutions based in the MENA region. The primary objective of the TL program is to build a cadre of leaders who are civic minded, intellectually capable, and professionally skilled, to become the community, business, and civic leaders of the future. The program intends to nurture leadership skills and the spirit of civic engagement and volunteerism among participating university-aged students at U.S.-accredited institutions. The TLR Program will conduct outreach and recruitment activities to identify and select eligible students, including candidates who represent the region’s cultural, religious, socioeconomic, and geographic diversity.
Communication and Marketing Lead Job Summary:
The Communication and Marketing Lead assists the Project Manager in the delivery of a TLR marketing communication plan that is research-informed and utilizes multiple platforms that can be scaled across a variety of uses and deliverables. The plan will include strategies for advertising the TLR undergraduate and graduate scholarship programs to targeted audiences, with messaging aligned to each stakeholder. It will also clearly define a review/approval process with NEA/AC, U.S. Embassies, and other stakeholders. Additionally, responsibilities will include developing promotional materials and providing creative direction for graphic design, brand design, web design, motion graphics, and video editing. This position is contingent on program funding.
Accountabilities:

Develops and implements marketing communication plan to promote TLR.

Applies an understanding of project priorities to customize marketing outreach to target audiences across 12 countries in the MENA region.

Works with FHI 360 internal experts to create a strategy for recruitment within marginalized and underserved populations, including refugees and individuals displaced by conflict; the strategy should ensure gender parity.

In close collaboration with NEA/AC and U.S. Embassies, coordinates and supports a range of recruitment methods, including in-person events where possible, and publication of information in press outlets, websites and social networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

Works with project’s Data and Technology Analyst to maintain an online calendar where NEA/AC, Embassies, and other stakeholders can access details of all outreach and recruitment activities in each target country.

Works with NEA/AC to revise existing branding and develop a new brand identity for TLR.

Develops program materials utilizing high-definition audio and images and ensuring information is available in English, Arabic, and French.

Serves as primary liaison to project vendors providing services such as photography, videography, graphic design, and editing.

Contributes to program reports and NEA/AC data calls, as needed.

Works with FHI 360 Corporate Communications team to coordinate inclusion of marketing communications in the organization’s global networks.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or it’s International Equivalent in communications, journalism, public relations, education, international affairs/development, or related field.
Experience:

6+ year of experience in communications/marketing, writing/editing, publications, and strategic outreach, and/or related work; experience working in the global education or exchanges and scholarship field is preferred.

Knowledge of Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) and/or U.S. university processes and activities preferred.

Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrates leadership ability.

Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Possesses strong interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political and ethical issues addressed by FHI 360.

Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.

Speaking and writing skills in Arabic and/or French strongly preferred
