This position is responsible for driving the wholistic process of business analytical enablement by engaging with key stakeholders to identify data needed to support key use cases, integrating data from multiple platforms, designing data structures, defining and prototyping business logic, and validating results. The skills required are a unique blend of diverse problem-solving capabilities includi ng analyst, data designer, data engineer, and quality assurance with broad latitude for decision making and solutioning. This senior level position will collaborate and/or partner with business areas, project teams, IT technical teams, as well as outsourced vendors to ensure high quality delivery of data focusing on innovation and creativity, enabling value-add to the business on large scale efforts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drives completion of projects or deliverables including the execution of highly complex data solutions while demonstrating best practices, processes and standards for user story development, data analysis, architecture, modeling, design, coding, and testing.
  • Contributes to the design of the corporate data strategy seeking collaborative opportunities as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with senior management to understand data needs in support of departmental goals.
  • Partners with project and resource managers in developing scope, dependencies, estimates, project plans, schedules, status reporting, and issue/risk management.
  • Designs and develops prototypes or final data/BI solutions to enable the measurement or monitoring of key performance indicators.
  • Leads or assists in the development, documentation, and maintenance of the enterprise data architecture and its deliverables including the design principles, models, and mappings for transactional and analytical systems serving both strategic and tactical needs.
  • Identifies and/or makes significant improvements to existing artifacts to align with enterprise strategy or to improve user experience.
  • Coaching and mentoring of other team members through project work.
  • Creates and/or reviews data quality rules applied to transactional and analytical systems.
  • Establishes and maintains effective and positive relationships with internal and external customers.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

  • BS degree and 7 years of work experience, or 12 years of work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced knowledge in translating business rules to data requirements.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of user story development, data warehouse design and modeling (3rd normal form and dimensional modeling), data integration design and development and/or performance tuning.
  • Advanced knowledge in creating modern BI dashboards (e.g. Domo, Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Excellent skills in coordination with multiple teams for project execution and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated oral/written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex technical information while inspiring and motivating others.
  • Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of work estimation, design review and code review and complete BI solution design.
  • Willingness to play multiple roles for different projects, e.g., data analyst, developer, tester, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • A demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing demands of business.
  • Passion for helping people solve problems.
  • A commitment to data security.

Physical/Mental Requirements And Demands

Work requires normal range of hearing, vision and verbal communication skills, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment and operate a keyboard and other office equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. The ability to perform work at a computer station for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with frequent interruptions is required. At times, subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. May experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
