Job Summary
Sr. Grants Accountant plays an important role in leading the grants accrual accounting, detailed tracking, and reconciliation. This position also provides support to partners on program accounting policy and compliance. The focus of this position will be around UMCOR, Global Health, and Yambasu Agriculture Initiative. The Grants Accountant works in close collaboration with the program team, the program administrative team, and the partner.**
Essential Job Functions
- Consolidate, update, analyze and reconcile the grants liability for UMCOR, Global Health & Yambasu Agriculture Initiative. The liabilities reconciliation, which includes grants liabilities adjustments and/or reversals, must be done weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Provide instruction on the program accounting policy, including procurement policy and program financial report for program staff and partners.
- Work closely with the program staff to review and approve the program financial reports.
- Assist the Grants Finance Director in preparing the Audit Reports, Board Authorization reports, and Grant Disclosure reports.
- DDI accounting entry for the grants liabilities, adjustment, and reversal.
- In the absence of the grants finance director, review the Disbursement requests, grants procurement, and Bid Analysis documents submitted by the grantees.
Education and Experience
- BA in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of three years’ work experience in a similar position
- Computer literate and knowledge of PowerPoint, MS Office especially advance excel & spreadsheet
- Experiences with Grant Making Not for Profit Organizations are preferred
- The high degree of organizational and reporting ability with attention to detail and flexibility
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a cross-cultural environment with diverse personalities and working styles
- Experience developing training materials including templates and toolkits to ensure timely submission of narrative and financial donor reports
- Track record of ensuring high-quality program and fiscal/grants management practices by collaborating with the program and finance teams to identify needs and provide responsive training and technical assistance, which may be provided during grantee meetings and orientations, via phone, or on-site as requested

Work Hours and Conditions
· FLSA Status: F/T Exempt
· Location: Remote
· Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Monday – Friday with flexible start/end time) – Evening and weekend work/meetings as necessary, particularly during peak unit season.
· May require work outside of standard business hours (to include weekends and evenings), particularly during peak unit season.
· Sedentary office/computer/keyboarding/meeting work for extended periods of time.
· May require travel to training sites and disaster locations.
