Badael is a rights-based organization founded in 2013 with a mission to foster transformative justice as the basis of a genuine and sustainable peace in Syria. Championing locally owned alternatives, we endeavor to buttress the scope and impact of inclusive grassroots civic action and foment the development of holistic truth and understanding within and around the Syrian context. Our approach combines direct assistance and capacity building efforts with bottom-up narrative-shaping initiatives, including research, oral history and advocacy, so that all Syrians are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to construct a pluralistic and rights-based society of tomorrow.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the HR and Administration head of department, the HR & Admin Intern will be responsible for assisting and supporting the work of the department including, HR and admin. The Intern will work closely with the HR and Administration Officers to generally assist in daily administrative tasks, to manage records, record important data, screen applicants for new positions, etc…
Administrative & HR Functions:
- Assist with organizing filing and archiving systems.
- Assist in creating a clear systems and guidelines that meet the standards, polices and needs of Badael
- Maintain the leave management system.
- Preparing and posting job advertisements, screening applications, arranging interviews, participating in selection process, and administering pre-employment tests as required.
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Assist in updating HR data, filing of office documents and updating/maintaining databases.
- Archive documents related to staff attendance and staff leave records.
- Support in job advertisements, screening applications and arranging interviews.
- Support in providing logistical services for Badael team by organizing meetings and reservations.
Qualifications:
- Holds or currently is enrolled in BSc in Business Administration, Human Resources or Economics major.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, in Arabic and English.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and other related software.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated flexibility to changing situations and priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to Badael values (Respect, Diversity and Integrity) and teamwork.
