Qualified Associate Ambulance Practitioners

This is a band 4 role – progressing to band 5 upon completion of 3,500 hours as an AAP. We will be able to offer band 5 to anyone who can evidence advance completion of 3,500 hours.

To succeed as an experienced Associate Ambulance Practitioner, you must have a genuine desire to serve the local community, demonstrate excellent communication skills, utilise your initiative, common sense and remain calm under pressure, whilst providing a patient-focused approach with a caring and empathetic nature.

Main duties of the job

In Order To Apply You Must Have

  • Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) Level 4 Diploma
  • A full and current driving licence, held for at least one year, with no more than three penalty points
  • A stable employment and attendance history
  • A caring disposition, demonstrating sensitivity to the needs of individuals
  • Also, candidates MUST hold a full C1 (manual) category on their driving licence as well as a Blue Light Driving Qualification prior to joining the Trust
  • Desirable-GCSE Maths and English, Grade A-C (4-9) or above (or equivalent

Working for our organisation

Upon joining the Trust, you will go straight into a 5-day clinical conversion course followed by a driving assessment. Please note that no annual leave will be authorised from this date until the course is completed.

Following the revision of current national legislation (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment), the Trust has reviewed our requirements relating to staff uptake of the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination.

Going forward, for patient facing positions, we strongly recommend that new starters will be appropriately vaccinated unless medically exempt in order to offer greater protection against exposure to the virus for front line staff.
