Location: North America (remote) or The Netherlands (hybrid)
Drieam is looking for a Business Developer that will own market development for one of our most strategic commercial regions, Northern America (NORAM). We’re rapidly expanding our commercial efforts worldwide and are looking for someone to further penetrate the NORAM market for Drieam. You’ll generate awareness of Drieam as the leading partner when it comes to extending functionality to Canvas LMS. Canvas is the fastest growing LMS (Learning Management System) in the world, and is the major player in the higher education space in NORAM. For example: all the Ivy league universities work with Canvas.

For which we work very closely together with our partners in education, like Instructure, Qualtrics and Miro.
What will you be doing
This is not your average business development role, we’re not looking to sell our solutions to just anyone. Drieam is very selective on the educators it works with and is looking for clients that share our vision on digital learning and future proof education. This means we specifically target accounts and help them achieve their objectives to create lasting relationships. You’ll operate on both a consultative as a strategic level, together with the sales and marketing teams of Drieam. You’ll have the opportunity to generate business opportunities in a strategically important region for Drieam. You will work on inbound lead generation, nurturing, prioritizing of our sales efforts and account management. In this role, you need to be eager to win deals, focus on creating lasting business relations and get energy of both gaining and transfering your knowledge to customers and co-workers. Your region will be NORAM, which is the home territory of Canvas and has the biggest market potential for Drieam’s solutions.
What are your responsibilities
- You can perfectly empathize with the (needs of the) prospects and help them by providing in their information needs (e.g.: relevant content, in-depth answers and / or connecting the stakeholders to the right Drieam colleagues)
- You’ll identify challenges and opportunities related to both education and software;
- You build relationships and nurture these prospects. We don’t believe in a hit and run approach, so you’ll be keeping track on a regular basis about the prospects’ status and see how you can help them every time;
- You will work with internal teams to execute account specific sales strategies and also to ensure a smooth onboarding of the customers;
- You’ll follow up on business opportunities through active prospecting. You prioritize your opportunities and keep track of them in our CRM (Hubspot).
- You lay the foundation for a partnership with Drieam, close the deal and keep track of a smooth onboarding process.
The requirements at a glance
- You have 1-3 years of experience in a commercial role within a SaaS environment
- You preferably have experience in a US sales context
- You have finished a bachelor program (with a commercial background)
- You are ambitious, enthusiastic, and very committed to be successful
- You enjoy working with customers and the challenge of closing deals
- You are a self-motivated and dynamic person, who spots and creates opportunities
- You have a passion for software, scale-ups & education
- You are fluent in English (mandatory for this position). Dutch is a plus.
- We offer very flexible working hours, but also require your flexibility to do calls with the US during the evening
- You are comfortable with uncertainty and see any ambiguity as an opportunity to build something.
