Call for GESI Technical Expertise

Winrock International is compiling a roster of global GESI Technical experts from which the organization will be able to draw to satisfy GESI technical expertise demands during proposal development, program implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.

Please to submit your cv if you are interested in being considered for intermittent, short-term engagements ranging from (depending on complexity of the assignment) 5-30 days. Assignments can include conducting GESI desk reviews; leading on the development of GESI sections for proposals, including proposal narratives; reviewing indicators, budgets, and action plans; conducting a GESI analysis and leading on GESI action planning; and providing one-off technical programmatic support to teams on specific, pre-determined project activities (e.g., training workshops; development of tools etc.).

Short-listed applicants will be requested to share more details about their experiences to determine whether their expertise aligns with the specific needs of the organization.

Need-To-Have Skills & Experiences

  • Graduate level degree in international ‘development’, gender and ‘development’, social science, or a related field.
  • Significant experience providing technical GESI support to ‘aid/development’ programming in various sectors and, specifically, in Winrock International priority sectors (i.e., agriculture; food security; child labor; counter trafficking in persons; governance; energy; economic development; education; ecosystems; water; forestry; climate change; agribusiness; WASH)
  • Experience supporting the design of GESI-responsive, large, complex ‘aid/development’ programs
  • Experience supporting GESI programming in various country settings and, specifically, in any W International priority regions (i.e., West Africa; East Africa; North Africa; Middle East; South Asia; East Asia; Southeast Asia; Central Asia; South America; Latin America; Caribbean)
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in applying intersectional and inclusion-based strategies and approaches to program design
  • Demonstrated familiarity with GESI best practices
  • Strong, demonstrated skills in GESI analysis as well as qualitative and/or quantitative assessment and evaluation skills, including sample design, mixed method designs, instrument development, and data analysis
  • Experience designing and facilitating in-person and virtual interactive and participatory meetings, workshops, and data collection and analysis sessions with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven track record of successful teamwork, good presentation/facilitation skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively in multi-cultural environments and with multicultural teams
  • Experience designing and delivering technical GESI trainings (e.g., GESI analysis; GESI integration etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with the design and facilitation of GESI reflective practice workshops
  • Exceptional technical and general writing skills, including the ability to develop and review complex technical products
  • Flexibility and ability to travel internationally or domestically for varying lengths of time, in alignment with COVID-19 related travel recommendations

Good-To-Have Skills & Experiences

  • Knowledge of key donor (e.g., USG; DFID etc.) GESI requirements
  • Fluency in languages other than English, including Swahili, Bengali, Thai, Wolof, Zarma, Hausa, Nepali, Arabic, French, Spanish etc.
