PSI seeks a Chief of Staff who will work directly for the President & CEO and closely with other members of the Executive Team, driving business priorities and institutional initiatives, advising on internal communications, and managing special projects from conception to completion. The Chief of Staff will provide dedicated support to the PSI Board of Directors and work closely with the CEO’s Executive Assistant to prioritize effective coordination and execution of the President & CEO’s workload.

Responsibilities

Your contributions -Lead, support, and monitor Executive Team strategic priorities and special projects from conception to completion, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders as needed, and providing regular progress updates to the Executive Team. Support Executive Team effectiveness through managing meeting agendas and resulting taskers, All Hands meetings, and the annual performance management process. Lead other key corporate processes, such as maintaining the institutional calendar, and coordinate meeting cadence and agendas for other leadership groups. Act as a sounding board to the President and CEO for ideas and strategic matters and oversee planning for CEO trips and external engagements. Prepare and manage the Executive Office and Board of Directors annual operating budgets, monitoring expenditures, and advising on budget priorities. 50% of the Time -Design and deliver an Executive Team internal communications plan, maintaining a pulse on organizational needs and advising on internal messaging in response. Draft, edit, and deliver internal communications originating from the Executive Team (e.g., emails, blog posts, videos, website updates). Assist with ad hoc media relations and public relations needs, and help the Executive Team prepare for internal and external presentations and engagements. Own key external reporting processes for entities such as Global Health 50/50 and the UN Global Compact. Advise other departments as needed on strategy and communications. Review and provide quality control on the written work of others seeking action by the Executive Team or seeking to communicate externally. 25% of the Time -Manage the preparation and planning of special events and meetings including PSI’s bi-annual senior leadership meeting, the PSI World Global Meeting, Board and Board Committee meetings, Board of Directors trips, and convenings for the chairs of local PSI Boards. Develop meeting objectives and agendas, and coordinate with the Executive Assistant on logistics as needed. Coordinate and prepare meeting materials, ensure follow up on all deliverables, and record the official meeting minutes as needed. 25% of the Time

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

-Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in public health, international development, public policy or a related field. -At least 10 years of related experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted. Experience in global health or development, as well as living/working outside the United States, a plus. -Excellent relationship building, stakeholder management and consensus building skills, with proven ability to work cross-functionally up and down a complex organization. – Able to proactively identify opportunities, diagnose problems, and develop client-centered and evidence-based solutions. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. French and/or Spanish language skills preferred. -Demonstrated successful experience working with senior-level executives.

-Excellent time management, project management, and prioritization skills with demonstrated effectiveness in leading or managing multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously.

-Demonstrated critical thinking and strong professional judgment, able to bring a steady hand and sense of calm to unexpected or stressful situations.

-Able to work effectively, independently, and collaboratively.

-Intellectual quickness, curiosity, discipline, and resourcefulness. -Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). -Excellent project management skills. Training and certification in project management preferred. -Able to maintain complete confidentiality for sensitive issues and information. -Commitment to PSI’s mission and values.
