Your area of responsibility

The position will focus on compliance, AML topics and oversight of delegated functions. As part of our team based in our Luxembourg office, you will report to the Conducting Officer in charge of Risk Management, Delegation Oversight and Compliance. With your specialized knowledge you will support the team with the following responsibilities:
 
Compliance and AML

 

  • Maintaining and updating the AIFM’s policies framework regarding AML and other compliance matters (e.g. remuneration, oversight & control)
  • Establishing and executing points on the AIFM’s compliance monitoring plan, in accordance with Luxembourg best practices (ALCO) and recommending effective improvements
  • Acting as RC (“responsable du contrôle du respect des obligations”) at AIFM and AIF level in accordance with Luxembourg AML regulations
  • Preparing compliance and AML reports for Conducting Officer and board meetings of the AIFM and AIFs
  • Monitoring regulatory changes and providing the AIFM’s authorized management with periodic updates
  • Leading employee training sessions on legal and compliance issues
  • Promoting the highest ethical standards required from staff and ensuring that staff meets the requirements of the AIFM’s compliance manual and the relevant regulatory obligations in Luxembourg

 
Control & Oversight

 

  • Conducting initial due diligence, including onsite visits, on delegates and third-party providers (e.g. Portfolio Managers, Distributors, Central Administration & Transfer Agents) as well as drafting concise high-quality due diligence memos summarizing the findings
  • Coordinating the onboarding process for new delegates and external service providers in an efficient and effective manner
  • Establishing a risk-based oversight plan including KPIs for all onboarded delegates and third-party providers
  • Liaising with the delegates and third-party providers and regularly reporting on outcomes of the oversight process to the AIFM’s Conducting Officers and the Board of Directors
  • Following up on status and performance of delegated activities (e.g. through service reviews) and advising on remediation measures
  • Driving the continuous improvement of the oversight of delegated activities in order to align these with best market practices

Your skills and experience

  • Minimum of five years in compliance and delegation oversight roles, with a preference for previous AIFM experience; profiles from UCITS ManCos will be considered
  • University degree in finance, law or training/experience deemed equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant rules and regulations for compliance and delegation oversight, including AIFMD, AML/KYC, FATCA/CRS, SFDR and applicable CSSF Circulars (e.g. CSSF 18/698)
  • Very good drafting and report writing skills with ability to systematically assess and challenge existing processes
  • Diligent in your approach to work and highly organized with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with local and remote colleagues
