Job Overview/Summary: The COVID Navigator will assist people with refugee/asylee, migrant, and immigrant population backgrounds with COVID-19 education and vaccination appointments, coordinating clinics with special focus on vaccinating 6 month – 17-year-old age group. They will work to improve access to and promote the health of clients through COVID vaccinations and ensure up-to-date information and guidelines are provided in a rapidly changing pandemic environment. This position reports directly to the Health and Wellness Coordinator in Turlock.
Major Responsibilities:
· Conduct COVID-19 safety education of basic hygiene, masking requirements, social distancing, national, state, and local guidelines.
· Provide education on symptoms, quarantine, isolation, testing locations, accessing medical and emergency health services, vaccine efficacy and differences, and checking-in/following up with clients for any basic needs during quarantine and isolation.
· Schedule and facilitate COVID-19 vaccinations, including providing interpretation and transportation when needed.
· Assist clients in navigating county public health vaccination clinics, coordinating transportation to and from sites, meeting with clients at vaccination sites, filling out forms, providing interpretation/translations, and handing out masks, vaccine card holders, and various PPE items.
· Coordinate mobile vaccination clinic events with child and family-friendly activities including handing out of incentives, inviting community health and CBOs to join, and vaccination event outreach.
· Community outreach, flyer distribution, social media outreach, and partnerships with community programs and organizations.
· Utilize interpretation and translation services.
· Attend county health services agency, grant, and other meetings.

Job Requirements:

Undergraduate degree preferred, with minimum of 1-2 years relevant work experience in immigration or human services field

Excellent verbal and written skills in English and demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment and with limited-English speakers

Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a team member, to take initiative and follow instructions
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the abilities to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Well-organized with the proven ability to prioritize duties and manage time effectively

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Proficient in using social media to share information

Ability to manage databases a plus

Proficiency in more than one language desired, Spanish language preferred

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, own car, and auto insurance
Working Environment:
- A combination of standard office environment and ‘field’ time in and around the service delivery area.
- May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
