Setting and Reporting Supervisor: The incumbent of this post reports to the Chief Field Health Program Supervisees: The incumbent of this post provides direct supervision to a number of professional and general services staff members. Responsibilities •Advises and assists the Chief Field Health Programme on all matters related to the development and implementation of the health programme in the Field to which assigned. •Is responsible for coordination of functions and activities of all Division Heads and for the day-to-day administration of the Field Health Programme. •Is directly responsible for the implementation, supervision and evaluation of the Medical Care Services in the Field including general clinic services, medical supply operations, dental care, laboratory services, hospital and other referral services; physical rehabilitation and radiology services as applicable. •Plans and directs in-service training for all staff assigned to the Medical Care Services Division. •Maintains good working relations with concerned officials in governmental, nongovernmental and subsidized or contracted health institutions for co-ordination of services and activities. •Performs such other duties as may be assigned which includes acting for the Chief, Field Health Programme in the latter’s absence. Education •A university degree from an accredited educational institution in medicine including an internship of at least twelve-month duration. •Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in public health. Professional qualifications: •A license to practice medicine in the country of duty station Job Specific Qualifications Work Experience At least eight years of progressively responsible relevant professional working experience in a public health administration of which at least three years should have been in a supervisory health position preferably with UNRWA. is required Languages Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English. Special Notice Contract Status: Fixed-Term Appointment for 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need. Benefits: Grade HL10, Monthly Salary from JD 2,076.40 Fils Plus SOA 15% of the basic salary. Other benefits include Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency) & Medical Insurance. Dependency allowance is subject to eligibility. Department/Office: Health Programme Duty Station: Jordan Field Office (Amman) Other Information: •Is required to travel frequently in the Field in the performance of the required duties. •A driving license in the country of the duty station. Equivalency: When the minimum requirements are not fully met, Field Director for Field Area staff and Director of Human Resources for Headquarters Area staff, in consultation with the concerned supervisor may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience. NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
