JOB OVERVIEW

The Learning and Communications Specialist is a new role which will join the IRC Global HR team, and report to the Global Employee Relations (ER) Partner as a subject matter expert for ER learning and communications.

You will be key in contributing to the achievement of the IRC People Strategy goals, by supporting the Global ER efforts to upskill the global community of HR leads. You will lead the design and implementation of ER learning activities, including training on ER investigations and workplace matters. You are creative and metrics-driven with strong project management skills. You will also provide strong support for our HR community to communicate and handle these issues with employees.

You will communicate in ways that educate, encourage and engage our global workforce, as well as our key partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ER Workshops

  • Contribute to the development of compelling learning material to engage diverse participants throughout Global ER workshops.
  • Actively take part in the organization and roll out of ER workshops in global locations, including liaising with vendors and global teams.

Interactive Training

  • Tailor online Ethics and Compliance training into an ER module that will enable global HR leads to manage reported concerns in an effective and consistent way.
  • Drive the roll-out of the online ER module, including project managing the launch, internal communications, and monitoring.
  • Apply adult learning principles to design and implement continuous learning initiatives to ensure all staff are equipped with the right ER skills and behaviors.

Learning and Communications Approach

  • Leverage technology to propose creative ways to enhance learning experiences.
  • Facilitate virtual or in person learning sessions.
  • Work across teams and geographies to ensure diverse voices are included when crafting content.
  • Collaborate with vendors and focal points to ensure content is made available in multiple languages, as needed.
  • Monitor metrics to assess efficiency of above initiatives and prepare reports for use with IRC Leadership.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years working in Employee Relations, Human Resources, with experience in developing and implementing learning activities;
  • Demonstrated experience managing, curating and delivering internal learning and development content;
  • Track record of managing multiple priorities with minimum supervision in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment;
  • Experience gathering quantitative and/or qualitative data, analyzing and identifying trends, and providing actionable recommendations based on data analysis;
  • Experience working in the humanitarian context or with another purpose-led organization is preferred but not essential.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Outstanding writing, verbal, editing and proofreading skills in English is required.
  • Knowledge of adult-based learning principles in instructional design;
  • Technology savvy, advanced MS Excel;
  • Robust time and project management skills;
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative with positive demeanor and ability to communicate with global and multicultural audiences.
  • French, Arabic and/or Spanish a plus
  • Must operate with a high standard of integrity and have a genuine interest in Employee Relations.
  • Willingness to travel
