CLC WORKS is excited to welcome passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as ESOL Instructors in our LEARN NOW & WORK program. This role is essential in helping adult learners enhance their English proficiency and prepare for success in the workforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction:
- Teach English language skills with a focus on American culture, civics, and work-readiness.
- Design and implement lesson plans based on LEARN NOW & WORK’s proven approach.
- Maintain consistent communication with students during the class cycle through WhatsApp ensuring engagement and support.
- Assign and manage homework via WhatsApp and Google Classroom, reinforcing classroom learning and work-readiness skills.
Student Assessment & Support:
- Assist with student progress testing as needed.
- Communicate with students about their progress and re-enrollment processes.
- Develop and revise Individual Learning Plans (ILP) for each student.
- Maintain electronic portfolios for each student, updating them with relevant materials at regular intervals.
Administrative Duties:
- Keep accurate records of student attendance and other relevant information using WhatsApp and the program’s data management system.
- Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure that both program and individual class goals are met.
- Facilitate end-of-term class evaluations and use feedback to improve future classes.
Professional Development:
- Complete required professional development courses and any additional training as assigned.
- Participate in regular program meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. TESOL certification or equivalent experience is highly valued.
- Experience: Preferably in multicultural environments and with adult learners.
- Skills:
- Strong English communication
- Tech-savvy (experience with WhatsApp, Google Classroom)
- Organizational skills
- Team collaboration
- Understanding of adult learning principles
- Adaptability to diverse learning needs
- Additional Requirements: Ability to pass a criminal background check, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Professional appearance required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Schedule: Classes meet two times per week for 12 weeks on either M/W or T/R during the designated times.
Times: Morning (10-12 p.m.) or Evening (6-8 p.m. or 7-9 p.m.)
Employment Type: Part-Time, Term-Based (with potential for renewal)
Pay for 12-week Term: $1,728.00 (split into semi-monthly payments across the term).
