Responsibilities
As a Software Dev Engineer 5, you will play a leadership role in developing scalable web applications using Node.js and Heroku. You will solve complex technical issues and programming tasks with minimal supervision and maintain source code integrity. You also are a knowledgeable engineer with extensive experience in React, JavaScript, and web development.
Specific Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement front-end strategies across the site.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine strategy and priorities.
- Generate and review development plans and estimates for product verticals.
- Lead front-end development for product verticals and multiple horizontal initiatives, directing other developers.
- Promote UX mission and goals.
- Communicate development strategies and implementations clearly.
- Foster collaboration by building and maintaining relationships with other teams.
- Drive the adoption of patterns and processes that improve organizational efficiency.
- Source and recruit world-class team members.
- Develop and maintain performance and maintainability improvements.
- Seek new processes to enhance team collaboration and productivity.
- Design, develop, optimize, and test code for software projects.
- Participate in code reviews and develop technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in React, Node.js, JavaScript, CSS, GitHub, and Git.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development.
- Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Proven leadership in developing multiple horizontal initiatives and patterns.
- Recognized as an expert in your area by peers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expertise in user experience within your product area.
- In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, including design, coding, and testing patterns.
- Solid understanding of DOM scripting and client-side behavior.
- Up-to-date with current trends in front-end architecture, including performance, accessibility, and usability.
- Proficient in HTML and CSS, emphasizing the separation of structure and style.
- Ability to debug cross-browser layout and behavior issues.
- Operates in a professional office environment.
- Ability to meet physical requirements such as sitting for long periods and using computer monitors/equipment.
