HEKS/EPER

HEKS/EPER, Swiss Church Aid, supports projects designed to combat hunger, poverty and injustice in over 30 countries on four continents. HEKS/EPER also provides worldwide humanitarian assistance for victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts and supports the Church’s diaconal work in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. In Switzerland, HEKS/EPER champions the rights and causes of refugees and socially disadvantaged people. Through its development and social policy work in the fields of climate justice, access to land and food, migration, and integration, HEKS/EPER strives for systemic change – globally and in Switzerland.

With the onset of conflict in Ukraine following the Russian invasion on the 24th of February 2022, 6.5 million Ukrainians (approximately 15% of the population) have been internally displaced while 3.3 million (approximately 8% of the population) have fled to neighboring countries. Major population centers are under siege with civilian infrastructure heavily damaged. Basic commodities are becoming scarce with critical services facing significant strain.

We are looking for a proactive and experienced:

Field Coordinator, Ukraine, 100%

As Field Coordinator, you will work in direct collaboration with the mission personnel and interface directly with the Country Representative or its representative.
The context of ongoing conflict presents inherent risks. A professional sense of security, confidentiality, and proper representation is paramount.

Your responsibilities:

  • Child Protection Policy
  • You commit to respect the Child Protection Policy.
  • You commit to ensure the best implementation possible of the Child Protection Policy in Tikrit, including participation in annual audit, and reviews and updates of action plan.
  • Line Management
  • You supervise the Programme Managers, Advisors, Base Logistician, Administrator, Deputy Field coordinator and additional HR resources as deployed in Ukraine.
  • Programme Strategy and planning
  • You manage programming aspects of the emergency operations in line with HEKS and donors’ standards.
  • In collaboration with the Country Representative (Director), you design strategies and objectives for improved support to beneficiaries.
  • Corporate Policies, Management Systems and Procedures
  • Child Protection/Camp Coordination/Shelter/WaSH
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Human resources management
  • Security
  • Representation
  • You make recommendations to the Country Representative (Director) regarding security issues, including enacting hibernation and/or evacuation plans.
  • Reporting

Your profile:

  • This function requires the mastery of Personal, Social and Leadership Competencies (PSLC), *Technical and Methodological Competencies (TMC) and Management and Strategic Competencies (MSC)*
  • In particular:
  • Min. 2 years of experience in humanitarian project management
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in expatriate team management
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Russian language skills
  • Excellent management skills
