As a Field Service Dispatcher, you will be tasked with addressing equipment breakdowns in the field, coordinating activities of field mechanics, maintaining data on service calls, communicating with internal and external customers, inventory control, ensuring equipment is service at regular intervals, and daily business reporting for multiple locations. Without you, our customers cannot meet their operational needs, and that’s why we seek a professional with integrity who respects and understand the demands of the job.

What You’ll Do

  • Answer customer calls
  • Set work schedules for field mechanics
  • Prioritize, schedule and dispatch field service team
  • Determine the severity of service requests and how best to address them
  • Ensure mechanics account for their time and parts
  • Parts purchasing and ensuring timely repairs and work orders take place
  • Communicate with United Rentals locations when repairs should be charged back to a customer, filed as warranty or when equipment needs to be replaced in the field
  • Contact manufactures and outside vendors as necessary to complete repairs
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders providing updates on repairs and services
  • Other tasks, as assigned by management
  • Demonstrate active participation in United Rentals Safety Culture, always prioritizing the safety of team members and customers alike
  • Support all team members

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations
  • Diligent attention to safety
  • Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
