The international Red Cross and Red Crescent network is the largest humanitarian network in the world with a presence and activities in almost every country. All Red Cross and Red Crescent activities have one central purpose: to help those who suffer, without discrimination, whether during conflict, in response to natural or man-made disasters, or due to conditions of chronic poverty.
Danish Red Cross is present in Ukraine and scaling up its operation to meet demands. We are looking for a highly qualified Grant and Partnerships delegate.
In Ukraine our primary partnership is with the Ukraine Red Cross Society (URCS). Our programmes in Ukraine are identified and planned in close collaboration with URCS.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will include:
- leading proposal development
- ensuring compliance to all donor contracts
- information management of project documents
- coordinating interim and final reporting processes
- coordinating the opening of new projects and providing general support related to fundraising and donor engagement to the Head of Programme
The position works in close collaboration with other staff in the unit. Among other things you are expected to:
- work with URCS as our main implementing partner
- be the Ukraine focal point for proposal development including project design, proposal writing and review and have a strong link with the Global Partnership Unit at HQ.
- Identify potential relevant international and/or local partners outside the Red Cross movement (private sector partners, national and international NGOs, think tanks, academia, etc.) to be included in proposals.
- Regularly update a directory of donors, international and local NGOs, other partners and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain program summary documents which outline ongoing projects
- Ensure link with the Head of Operations and our P-MEAL team
- Build capacity of staff on proposal development, report writing, case studies and other aspects of grants management process.
About You
To be successful at this role we expect you to possess the following:
- 5 years or more experience working in the development or humanitarian sectors or comparable experience
- 3 years’ experience working internationally in the development or humanitarian sector in grants and fundraising positions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging regularly with donors, other humanitarian organizations, and both national and expat staff.
- Ability to engage and coordinate seamlessly with various teams to achieve tasks required
- Detail oriented with excellent English language writing and editing skills.
- Experience in leading development of high value proposals and excellent donor reports writing skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability for working under the pressure of multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Robust mentality working and living in a country with conflicts and a changing humanitarian context.
Employment conditions
The Grant and Partnerships delegate reports to the Head of Programme. The duty station is Chernivtsi and accommodation will be provided; Ukraine is a non-family position. You might be relocated to a different location or country if needed because of the situation in Ukraine.
The starting date of the assignment is envisioned as soon as possible. The length of the contract will be one year, with possibility of extension.
The contract will be administered in accordance with the Danish Red Cross Terms and Conditions for Delegates. The monthly salary including allowances and pension will be from DKK 43,000 to 45,300 depending on experience and qualifications. Accommodation will be provided.
