JOB TITLE: HARDWARE/INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIST

REPORTING TO: PROJECT MANAGER

BASED AT: GAMBIA

BE THE STRATEGY BEHIND THE GAME.

Farsight is growing quickly, and we’re looking for a Hardware Support Specialist who will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of computer systems and networks of an organisation. They will be handling installations and configuration of computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults as well as solutions to technical and application problems, either remotely or physically. WHAT YOU’LL DO AS THE HARDWARE SUPPORT SPECIALIST:

  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Talk clients / staff through a series of actions either face to face or remotely, solving issues or setting up systems.
  • Troubleshoot systems or network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  • Support the roll out of new applications.
  • Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
  • Work continuously on a task until completion or referral to third parties if appropriate.
  • Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time.
  • Test and evaluate new technology
  • Any other duties assigned by management.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an ICT discipline, Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Relevant data centre certifications will be an added advantage.
  • At least 8+ years of working experience in the design and setting up of data centres.
  • At least 8+ years of working experience in managing all operations of a data centre including hardware, virtualisation, networking, and operating systems.
  • Must be a local
  • Experience in integrating various technologies and hardware components.
  • Experience in cloud technologies
  • Experience working in a complex infrastructure environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
