The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

In recent years, the Hebrew University is strategically developing and strengthening international academic relations with institutions and bodies in Asia, with focus on China and India. The main mission of the position is to initiate, foster and strengthen international academic activity and increase the scope of activity in accordance with the internationalization strategy of the university.

This position entails the following:

  • Develop, nurture and strengthen academic partnerships in teaching and in research between Hebrew University and leading institutions in Asia, with focus on China and India.
  • Support recruitment of Asian students with focus on China and India.
  • Coordinate and support for development of joint degree and short-term academic programs for Asian audiences.
  • Initiate cooperative projects with Asian partners, including ongoing external and internal communication, preparation of materials and reports.
  • Advance opportunities for student mobility and opportunities for international cooperation, including coordination of internal calls for applications for academic collaborations, promotion of funding, scholarships and more.
  • Represent the University in partnership discussions with the relevant authorities in Asia.
  • Represent the University at events and fairs in Asia.
  • Plan and accompany visits and missions to the Hebrew University.
  • Internal guidance and guidance for HUJI staff on matters concerning Asia, including developing partnerships, Asian admissions and students’ affairs, marketing materials etc.
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by the relevant administrators.

Qualifications:

  • Academic Degree – MA in Asian studies is an advantage.
  • Proven experience establishing connections and partnerships in Asia. Experience working with higher education institutes in China and India is an advantage.
  • Native-level Hebrew and English oral and written proficiency.
  • High level Chinese language oral and written proficiency – advantage.
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong skills in project management, logistics, initiative, communication, and service.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Availability and willingness to work extended and unconventional hours and travel abroad as needed.
