JOB PURPOSE

Health Project Coordinator will support Ops team, Health partners and Pandemics surveillance (EWARN) actors in particular in managing and following up the implementation of health activities, under the supervision of Grants/Portfolio Managers and technical supervision of Health Technical advisor. The Health Coordinator will ensure that implemented activities are carried out in line with proposed plans and WVSR strategies in Health Sector. The primary functions are to assist the health advisor and operation team in planning health, Pandemic surveillance (EWARN) activities in implemented by surveillance actors to ensure that activities are consistent with WHO, worldwide agreed guidelines, humanitarian principles, donors’ requirement, and the context.
Major Responsibilities
Management
- Manage day-to-day activities of relevant health projects in North West Syria in coordination with field team and partners team.
- Providing the technical feedback on the plans, Field/Partners reports and activities outputs.
- overseeing the pandemics surveillance activities including, reviewing and following up partner’s activates plans, and reports.
- In coordination with the health advisor and surveillance actors, design and maintain surveilance monitoring and supervision tools for the field-based medical officers to be used in monitoring and supervsing the suveilllance services in an efficient and high-quality manner.
Coordination
- Coordinate operations under the project with relevant functions, such as programs, sectors, finance, logistics and procurement, administration, human resources, safety and security, communications and technical unit.
- Administration
- Liaise with administrative functions in the field such as logistics, procurement, and human resources to ensure project activities running smoothly.
- Oversee the establishment and maintenance of filling system in the office.
- Monitor weekly, monthly and yearly activity schedules.
- Ensure and encourage good stewardship on resources available to the response for the benefit of the community and the organization.
- Determine staffing requirements and recruit WASH staff in IDP camps as necessary in conjunction with P&C
MEAL and reporting
- Ensure that all documentation & filing systems are in order.
- Contribute to project monthly, quarterly, semi and final reports. Or based on the request.
- Work with MEAL team to follow up on Monitoring visit reports to ensure that issues are dealt with timely with the field team and partners to ensure program quality
- Provide inputs for any relevant needs assessment or stakeholder mapping across all relevant areas and participate in preparing a report about the findings.
- Conduct a desk review of best practices and lessons learned on delivering health services in crisis settings and present findings to relevant department.
Required Professional Experience
1. Must be fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
2. Knowledge of Syria specific context and cross-border response.
3. Experience in remote management.
4. Computer literacy (MS Excel, MS Word).
5. Good organizational and communication skills.
6. Experience supervising office staff and writing reports
7. five years experiences in Health projects management/ coordination, projects monitoring
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
Bachelor or Post Graduate University degree in public health, health care system management, epidemiology or other related fields of humanitarian or development studies with relevant Health programs experiences.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
experience in remote management.
Post experience in North -West Syria context.
post knowledge in WV work environment
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
Travel to all field locations in North west Syria once a month
Language Requirements
Both English and Arabic (speaking and writing) fluently required
