Tearfund

Do you understand the importance of clear and creative communications? Do you want to innovate and facilitate learning mechanisms and approaches in order to ensure the continued quality of Tearfund’s humanitarian and resilience work? Do you have demonstrable experience of producing communication resources, developing new learning initiatives and managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders? If so, you could be the person Tearfund needs.

This important role is responsible for managing and coordinating humanitarian and resilience learning and communications mechanisms on behalf of Tearfund’s global Humanitarian and Resilience Team (HaRT) and our regional Disaster Management Leads.

This role will require you to work closely with colleagues across the globe to innovate and coordinate and evaluate new global and cross-regional learning mechanisms and approaches to humanitarian and resilience learning. You will also oversee Tearfund’s multi-lingual internal humanitarian learning and training platform, including supporting the development of new courses, webinars and learning ventures. An experienced communicator, you will also be responsible for the design, monitoring and implementation of internal humanitarian communications across a variety of platforms.

As part of a globally dispersed, cross cultural team, it is critical that you have strong interpersonal and relational skills and are able to bring people together from different teams. You will have proven experience working across cultures, languages, contexts and organisational structures, and you will be an exemplary communicator (written and verbal), who is able to work flexibly and use your own initiative. You will be highly organised, with proven experience managing learning initiatives and complex projects as well as the ability to oversee specific tasks, think creatively, and multi-task. Humanitarian crises are often dynamic and can be unpredictable, therefore you are someone who is able to work flexibly, with the ability to adapt work and projects as required.

If you think this sounds like an exciting role we would love to hear from you!

Applicants must be fluent in English language skills, both written and spoken. Fluency in either French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic will be a distinct advantage.

All applicants must be committed to Tearfund’s Christian beliefs.

Please note: This is a 12 month fixed term contract. This role can be based in any of Tearfund’s global offices where we are registered and permitted to employ staff. Salary will be market related and dependent on location.

The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues. In addition, personal identification information will be submitted against a Watchlist database to check against criminal convictions as a counter-terror measure.
