Description

Inside Safe is Los Angeles’ citywide proactive housing-led strategy to bring people inside from tents and encampments for good, and to prevent encampments from returning. Working collaboratively with the City of Los Angeles’ Mayor’s Office, the Inside Safe Initiative proactively engages with people living in tents and encampments based on which locations are most chronic and where people are most in crisis. It is a housing-based initiative where people are offered immediate quality housing and a commitment of services and permanent housing so they can stay inside safe for good.

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Adult Workforce Development, the Job Connector Manager will supervise and direct a team of job connectors and lead job connector. The Job Connector Manager will be responsible for the coordination of workforce development support services and resources to recently housed individuals through CRCD’s Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center. The Job Connector Manager will work closely with homeless services case managers across all assigned sites and will assist with matching clients to jobs available through the Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center. Job Connector Manager will also directly assist 5-10 individuals, who self-identify as ready to pursue employment, education, or training. The Job Connector Manager will work with the Lead Job Connector and Job Connectors to ensure clients have the supportive services needed to apply and retain employment and will report back on the status of the client for up to one year. In coordination with CRCD’s Associate Director of Adult Workforce Development, the Job Connector manager will additionally report, receive daily and/or weekly operational instructions from the Inside Safe Program Manager assigned to the Mayor’s Office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead and manage a team of Job Connectors including project management to ensure that Inside Safe participants receive the full scope of employment services that includes comprehensive intake, job referrals and financial coaching through CRCD’s Financial Services Center (FSC) in accordance with program policies and procedures.
  • Main point of contact with the Mayor’s Office to coordinate communication with key partnerships, ensure accurate reporting, facilitate weekly meetings with all Job Connectors, and manage site assignments.
  • Responsible for onboarding of new Job Connectors including program overview, scheduling appropriate trainings, introductions to key partners and stakeholders, data entry, and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular on-site visits with Job Connectors to provide regular supervision and support including staff technical assistance and coaching.
  • Ensure all referrals to CRCD’s WorkSource Center are connected and documented throughout the 12 months of Inside Safe enrollment including post placement retention services.
  • Data quality assurance in Salesforce, CalJobs and other data management systems to ensure accurate and timely data entry including case notes, service activities, program enrollment and retention, and support service needs.
  • Manage and complete regular reporting requirements including performance data, participant demographics, program services, referrals, placement data, and success stories.
  • Understand and follow the Integrated Service Delivery model and collaborate with WDD staff to ensure coordinated services and the smooth transition of participants from skills development and training to employment services through follow-up.
  • Evaluate staff performance including identification of best practices and areas for improvement.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory CRCD organization-wide staff meetings including event preparation and day of event implementation.
  • Participate in WDD staff planning, including the 5-Year Strategic Plan
  • Uphold CRCD’s mission & professionally represent the agency at assigned events.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of project management experience.
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Proven success working with all levels of management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to meet deadlines.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s licenses, and car insurance as required by law, as appropriate.
  • Reliable, flexible team player who works well with minimal supervision, who has a good work ethic, and an ability to set and maintain personal boundaries.
  • Ability to lead a team in tracking services, monitoring performance and meeting program deadlines.
  • Culturally sensitive individual who has the ability and drive to offer support that helps to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable populations.
  • Proficient in data entry, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint; Salesforce a plus
  • Experience in using Google Workspace (specifically Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Calendar)
  • Working knowledge in data tracking systems and tools.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage large caseload, data, and reporting duties.
  • Reliable transportation: valid driver’s license, and car insurance as required by law

SALARY

$66,560-$72,000 annually
