ICU

ICU BACKGROUND AND PROJECT DESCRIPTION

ICU has been active in Jordan since 1999. Among the main activities in the country, ICU has managed interventions in the agricultural, energy and business support sectors. Furthermore, since the beginning of the Syrian crisis it has implemented projects in favour of the most vulnerable categories such as minors, women and people with disabilities.

The project CSE4CGE is funded by the European Union, in the framework of the program “Enhancing CSOs’ Contribution to the Governance and Development Process in Jordan”. The project will increase the coordination and reciprocal support between civil society organizations (CSOs) and municipalities in Irbid and Karak in the field of solid waste management (SWM). The specific objective of the project is to reach an effective engagement of CSOs as support to Irbid and Karak Greater Municipalities for the implementation of solid waste management strategies and as linkage entities among governmental institutions, local populations, and private sector.**

The selected candidate will be supporting the activities of the project above mentioned while, overseeing all financial resources and administrative activities of ICU, when required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

Daily management of the project’s activities:

  • Daily implementation, monitoring of project activities, coordination and follow up with partners and stakeholders;

  • Ensure monitoring mission and participation to coordination meeting in the areas of implementation

  • Ensures that documentation and reporting is organized and up to date in the management platform;

  • Accountancy, reporting and monitoring of expenses;

  • Develops monthly accrual basis financial package, including statement of activities and balances sheet, and ensuring compliance to statutory reporting and remittance requirements;

  • Prepares and submits monthly balance sheet reconciliation reports, as well as grant, and other financial reporting obligations;

  • Other duties if necessary

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree in business, non-profit management, public administration or others related field preferred;

  • At least 3 years of related professional experience; preferably with previous experience in accounting, administration or financial management in a non-governmental organization;

  • Diplomatic and negotiation skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to work with deadlines and lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;

  • Excellent knowledge of standard office software, such as MS Office (especially Excel and Power Point);

  • Fluency in Arabic and English, written and spoken;

  • Driving licence

  • Availability to field missions;

  • Jordanian Nationality

  • Experience and familiarity with European PRAG procedures will be an advantage

SKILLS

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and stay organized to ensure timely and accurate work;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to draft reports and analyses and edit results in appropriate format;

  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively work in a multi-cultural work environment
