We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager to join the Sustainability team with a global business. You will be located in Stockholm or Helsinki and report to Senior Vice President Sustainability.

As a Regulatory Affairs Manager, you will serving both the Packaging Materials and Packaging Solutions divisions at Stora Enso, with primary focus on monitoring and interpreting the EU packaging policy and regulation, acting as a lead expert in engaging with relevant internal stakeholders and informing them on packaging policy related matters, coordinating work in our internal policy and regulation related working groups, representing the Divisions in packaging policy related association work and where applicable developing positions and responding to EU consultations concerning the regulation in scope in collaboration with Stora Enso Group Public Affairs team.

Key Responsibilties

This position will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Serve as an in-house packaging regulation expert with responsibility over selected policy areas relevant for fibre-based packaging products
  • Provide updates and analysis of packaging regulation from business perspective and develop guidance and inform key divisional functions and leadership teams on them
  • Coordinate a cross-divisional regulatory (circular) working group with business representation to disseminate and consolidate information from the markets as well as different industry associations.
  • Educate key divisional staff on the European regulatory pathways and potential product or market requirements emerging from this. Provide training on specific regulatory themes and organize educational webinars.
  • Write, review and assemble high quality EU packaging regulatory related positions and briefing papers and feed into the development of stakeholder engagement strategies in coordination with Group Public Affairs
  • Coordinate Packaging Material and Packaging Solution divisions´inputs to Group Public Affairs consultations concerning other EU regulation related consultations (where relevant)
  • In partnership with industry associations and in-house circular ambassadors, maintain and expand knowledge of regional (and where relevant national) regulatory requirements and precedents, including new regulation that may affect the Stora Enso packaging business and commercialization of our products
  • Act as Stora Enso representative in EU (packaging) industry associations as agreed.
  • Assist in projects including business intelligence and knowledge management and other areas as determined.
  • Maintain a depository of relevant regulatory information, updates and presentations
  • Act as a liaison between Group Public Affairs and divisions to support effective collaboration
  • Perform other duties as required

About You

In order to succeed in this role, you have a University degree in International Policy or equivalent field of studies. You also have work experience in the regulatory and policy field and/or Packaging industry alternatively within Sustainability. Experience and interest on Communicating to different stakeholder groups and superior knowledge/competences of the Microsoft Office Suite as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and general IT skills. Excellent native-level verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English are a requirement.

You have good communication skills and like to share knowledge and communicate fluently in Swedish and English. This position requires some traveling.
