Job Overview / Summary (What and Why):

As part of the Entertainment Relations and Marketing & Mobilization Team (M&M) the primary responsibility for this position is to both strategically help use existing ambassadors and help expand the talent roster with relevant artists or athletes in order to raise the IRC’s global profile and brand and influence our target audiences through luminary partnerships. In alignment with our Strategy100 commitments, this post gives talent focused strategies to drive compelling multi-year campaigns, organizational profile and influence globally. The Senior Officer will help deliver on innovating the IRC brand, which enables us to increase awareness, understanding of and support for our mission so that we can raise more money and change policies to improve our crisis-affected clients’ lives around the world.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Help create opportunities both internally and externally to use existing talent that advances our brand, advocacy, and fundraising while offering moments of inspiration to our ambassadors.
  2. Review internal talent requests by assessing benefits and positive impacts on both our internal goals and long-term relationships with artists and lead the initiative with relevant participants.
  3. Help support global offices looking for celebrities to help them deliver on their specific priorities.
  4. Explore new and inventive ways to build impactful moments that apply ambassadors in unique ways and elevate the thought leadership of the ambassador program!
  5. Assist director with an expansion strategy to research and approach new international talent who offer rich engagement to the IRC while reflecting who we are as an organization.

Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: Institutional Philanthropy and Partnerships, USA Philanthropy, UK Philanthropy, US/UK/Sweden/Germany Mass Markets and Social Media channels, Global Media teams, and International Program Staff. External: Actors, musicians, and athletes and their management teams, agents, publicists, broadcast networks, and record labels.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree

Work Experience:

Minimum: 8 years or more experience in entertainment.

Minimum: Ability to work effectively and creatively with a diverse array of external and internal collaborators in a way that represents the best of the IRC. Strong social skills, with emphasis on creating “situation where everyone is happy” outcomes. Ability to thrive in an active environment, be flexible, work well with colleagues and help mentor junior staff are highly valued.
