As Senior Programme Coordinator you will work in direct collaboration with the mission personnel and interface directly with the Country Representative (or its representative), as appropriate for programme strategy, reporting and administration. You will have direct access to confidential information, such as the general strategy of HEKS in Ukraine, including programming objectives in the field, financial details, and security guidelines.

The context of ongoing conflict presents inherent risks. A professional sense of security, confidentiality, and proper representation is paramount.

We are looking for a

Senior Programme Coordinator, Ukraine, 100%

Your main responsibilities:

  • Programme Management and Development
  • You work closely with Head of Programmes (HoP) on shared programme team management and operationalisation of HEKS Ukraine’s programme strategy
  • You collects updates from field teams and makes recommendations to the Country Representative (Director), Head of Programmes, Administrative and Logistics’ Officers concerning programme, security and administrative issues.
  • Corporate Policies, Management Systems and Procedures
  • You help in setting up of HEKS Ukraine systems and procedures at field and country level.
  • Food Security and Livelihoods/WASH/Shelter/MPCA
  • You act as the instrument of management and facilitation for programme activities; ensures proper office functioning for the achievement of support roles and tasks while respecting budget and timeline parameters; a service-oriented support outlook will be maintained by support staff members.
  • You follow and ensure respect of programme action plans; facilitates exchange and troubleshooting; follows up on Country Representative (Director) and HoP’s orientations.
  • You contribute to proposal drafting as requested; review and edit final versions.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting
  • You support MEAL Coordinator in desining and implementing a monitoring and evaluation system to evaluate programme results and makes recommendations for future programme directions.
  • Human resources management
  • You work with the Expatriate Managers to encourage and empower Ukrainian national staff.
  • You raise any questions to the Country Representative (Director) regarding HEKS compliance with basic requirements of the local law in respect to employment conditions and related matters.
  • Representation
  • Together with the programme team, you ensure representation at key Cluster and Coordination meetings, including timely information sharing and reporting

To be successful you bring:

This function requires the mastery of Personal, Social and Leadership Competencies (PSLC), Technical and Methodological Competencies (TMC) and Management and Strategic Competencies (MSC)

In particular:

  • Min. 3 years of experience in humanitarian project management in emergency contexts
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in team management

As well as:

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Russian or Ukrainian language skills an advantage
  • Excellent management skills
