Title: Supply Chain (SC) Analytics Manager

Location: Any MSF office*

*By default, the successful candidate will be offered a contract in the MSF office of their country of residence at the time of application.

I. MSF INTERNATIONAL

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF’s 24 sections, 25 associations and other offices together. Registered in Switzerland, MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement, as well as implements international projects and initiatives as requested.

II. POSITION BACKGROUND

MSF consist out of 5 Operational Centres (OCs) and 3 European Supply Centres (ESCs). In the supply domain there are several inter-OC and -ESC projects. This number is growing due to the necessity and need to increase cooperation between the MSF entities while improving the quality of MSF’s supply chain. For this purpose, the capacity to measure performance and analyse across different entities of MSF is essential. The Supply Chain (SC) Analytics Manager position reflects the ambition to maintain and further develop MSF supply chain analytical capacities.

III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION

The Supply Chain (SC) Analytics Manager will:

  • Report hierarchically to the International Supply Chain Co-ordinator;
  • Work closely with supply chain professionals responsible for BI/performance management within the 5+1 OCs and 3 ESCs;
  • Interact with other stakeholder groups within the MSF movement (Finance, IT, Medical, Pharmacy, Logistics, Operations, and Finance).

IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

The main objective is to implement a global approach to supply chain performance management within and across MSF partners. It should cover international, regional, national and local supply chain performance management. This with the aim to analyse the supply chain performance in order to measure and adjust our continuous improvement agenda and identify root causes for SC performance issues as well as improvement potential.

Specific Objectives

  1. Development, implementation and improvement of data collection and performance management
  2. Development, implementation and improvement of data collection/aggregation processes and tooling (BI) at international level, in order to aggregate and compare data at all levels in the supply chain, OC/ESC specifically as well cross OCs/ESCs.
  3. Business and data analysis to identify performance issues as well as improvement potential & contribute to supply chain improvement projects

V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Supply Chain (SC) Analytics Manager is responsible for:

  • The development and maintenance of a global data mangement system which includes collaboration with IT partners to implement effective systems (IT – data integration);
  • The development and maintenance of the supply chain database developped in MS Azure (IT – database management);
  • The development and maintenance of data reporting solutions (Power BI) with the aim to provide visuals that accurately summarize supply chain activitiy, and performance while providing actionable insights (IT – data vizualization);
  • The setup and maintenance of an inventory of all Supply Chain related KPI reporting efforts globally within MSF in order to reduce duplication of effort and share best practices (Supply Chain – data analysis);
  • The development and implementation of a performance management framework to support the further alignment of data and KPI definitions between the entities involved (Supply Chain – data analysis);
  • Proactively identifying and developing analytical models, standards and techniques to be used by management levels, to collect data and evaluate supply chain effectiveness and efficiencies of critical processes (Supply Chain – data analysis);
  • Documenting and training colleagues on reports and dashboards (Supply Chain – data analysis).

Job requirements

Education:

  • Master degree in supply chain management, logistics, business management or a combination of relevant education and professional experience.

Experience:

  • Strong experience in the implementation of analytics solutions (MS Power BI and Azure) with adavnced skills related to Data Sciences
  • A relevant experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding large and complex organizational change processes.
  • Direct work experience in project and program management capacity, including people management, planning, risk management and change management.
  • Having a Humanitarian and/or MSF experience and knowledge is an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of supply chain, and logistics.
  • Interest in data analysis, with the ability to drive actionable insights from data.
  • Highly skilled at presenting data driven stories to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated managerial skills and leadership experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and project/program management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment.
  • Complete in-depth grasp of international complex supply chain management.
  • Drive for change, improvement and innovation.

Languages:

  • Fluently spoken and written English.
  • Good command of French is an advantage.
