International Rescue Committee

Background: IRC Supply Chain entails all the systems and support functions necessary to implement programs effectively, inclusive of procurement, logistics, inventory, property, and asset management, as well as vehicle and fleet management. Global Supply Chain (GSC) provides Supply Chain (SC) support to all IRC offices worldwide. GSC experts ensure that SC activities are conducted in the best interest of the IRC and in compliance with applicable policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and donor requirements.

Job Overview: As a key member of the IRC in Denver team, the Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator supports procurement efforts and oversees Contributions-In-Kind (CIK) recordkeeping and reporting requirements. This position leads procurement efforts, manages IRC in Denver’s fleet in accordance with established protocols, and coordinates other related supply chain activities. Additionally, this position supervises the Inventory Specialist and may supervise interns and volunteers assigned to the Operations department. The Inventory Specialist maintains storage space and is responsible for collecting, tracking, and disbursing inventory, including both purchased items and CIK, to staff to support refugees and other clients assisted by IRC.

Major Responsibilities:

Procurement

  • Research potential new vendors for needed furniture and household items and establish new vendor relationships in accordance with IRC procurement policies.
  • Support procurement efforts by coordinating with vendors, managing supply lists, and tracking and communicating market prices. Inform management team of inventory-related needs.
  • Order supplies, equipment, etc. in accordance with supply chain and financial compliance guidelines and coordinate servicing and repairs needed.
  • Manage vendor billing/invoices in coordination with Finance team.
  • Conduct distribution and network studies, monitor inventory, and analyze business requirements to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times.
  • Create, monitor, and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with Anti-Terrorism Convention (ATC) and other policies, updating records and systems as needed to maintain required documentation.

Inventory Supervision

  • Supervise the Inventory Specialist managing on- and off-site storage of household goods and personal effects intended for distribution to IRC clients.
  • Label, organize, and track items, and ensure storage facilities are well-secured, clean, and properly maintained.
  • Oversee periodic physical inventory counts and record timely and accurate data in IRC’s systems.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping to account for and track incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date digital and physical inventory records for regular reporting purposes.
  • Coordinate the daily operations of donation storage areas, including receiving, storing, stocking, and distributing in-kind goods in an organized manner.
  • Observe correct stacking and turnover by implementing industry-standard procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and members of the community to safely load, unload, and disburse goods in strict accordance with IRC and donor requirements.
  • Move equipment and goods between facilities as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Update tracking/management database with asset information.
  • Receive and barcode inventory and manage disposition of assigned equipment per IRC policies.

Other

  • Maintain vehicles and coordinate fleet management in accordance with established protocols.
  • Train and lead the activities of volunteers and interns, as needed.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement in supply chain, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Use personal, insured vehicle, an IRC vehicle, and/or public transportation (where available) to travel and transport clients and materials as needed throughout the service delivery area.
  • Participate in special projects as requested by the Operations Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree business administration, supply chain management, or similar field strongly preferred. May be substituted with equivalent years of relevant work experience.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of related professional experience; preferably in a not-for-profit or other social services environment.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured personal vehicle.

Work Environment:

  • This in-person position moves between a standard office environment and a warehouse environment.
  • Occasional weekend and/or evening work is required.
  • This role entails periodic travel in and around the Denver metro area to attend meetings, carry out the responsibilities outlined above, and represent the IRC with donors, partners, and vendors.
  • Staff are required to adhere to IRC’s COVID risk mitigation policies, which may include masking, physical distancing, enhanced hygiene practices, symptom screening, and isolation and quarantine when needed. IRC policies may be stricter than federal, state, or local level policies.

Compensation and Benefits: This position is a full-time, regular position scheduled at 37.5 hours per week, classified as non-exempt and eligible for overtime under state and federal law. Starting compensation is $28- $32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits.
