ROLE PURPOSE

The Supply Chain Assistant is responsible for providing effective, efficient and timely administrative, logistical support services needed by project or program office, using a variety of office management, communication and organizing skills. These functions may be carried out to assist one or other employee or may be for the benefit of more than one.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Prior experience in Supply Chain management in the NGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments;
* Experience of NGO emergency program management, and with experience of working within a complex and matrix organization structure.
* An excellent understanding of supply chain management in complex and challenging environments
* Substantial experience in logistics, including procurement, stock, fleet management and inventory
* Significant knowledge of international humanitarian systems, institutions and donors, and of procedures, accountability frameworks and best practices in emergency management
* Solid project management skills related to organizational development projects and international, cross-functional teams with a proven history of delivering results
* Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
* Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children Philippines’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
* Fluency in written and spoken English
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Desirable
* Higher education degree in logistics or equivalent/similar technical discipline
* Humanitarian working experience in Philippines or Asia region
* Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work with incoming teams in the event of major emergencies
