The MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery (MPHD) Project is a USAID-funded Cooperative Agreement implemented by PSI (Prime) and its consortium members. It is designed to improve maternal, newborn, child, and reproductive health outcomes, globally. MPHD is part of the wider MOMENTUM suite that encompasses a diverse portfolio of health areas, global initiatives, and country-based programs.
PSI seeks an Advisor II, Technical to support the MPHD project, with a focus on country-based activities. This includes leading the implementation of technical activities in line with PSI and global best practices and directly supporting French and English-speaking country teams in MPHD’s field support portfolio. This position will be increasingly involved in design of technical activities and strategy of the MPHD project and contribute to internal capacity building efforts across MPHD countries.
Responsibilities
Your contributions
– Technical: Lead development and implementation of MPHD’s country-level workplans in collaboration with program management and country teams with limited supervision, ensuring technical rigor throughout. Support report writing and development of technical guidance and deliverables. Provide remote and in-country technical assistance to build capacity of MPHD field support countries, including PSI network members and those of our global consortium partners to effectively deliver results in line with MPHD’s technical strategy. 50% of the Time
– Program Management: Work within a blended project team where there is overlap of technical and program management functions to respond to dynamic donor needs, which may include contributions to budget development. 20% of the Time
– Representation: Represent MPHD internally and externally. 10% of the Time
– Thought Leadership/Knowledge Management: Contribute to the development and implementation of MPHD’s thought leadership and knowledge management agenda, including the development and internal and external dissemination of technical and programmatic briefs, webinars, reports, and manuscripts. 15% of the Time
– May provide coaching and mentoring to staff. 5% of the Time

Qualifications
What are we looking for?
– Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field
– Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field (e.g., MPH, MSc, MPP, MPA, MBA) preferred
– At least 7 years of related experience. Equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted.
– Full professional competency in English and French.
– Experience with USAID or other USG funding.
– Ability to provide technical assistance to MPHD country teams with minimal support, including across various time zones in Africa and Asia.
– Demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge in relevant technical area, or broad public health knowledge and demonstrated ability to quickly build technical knowledge in various health areas.
– Ability to share knowledge internally and externally with communities of practice.
– Ability to produce technical products and tools with minimal oversight and direction.
o Experience authoring or co-authoring technical deliverables for external audiences in any of the following health areas: Family Planning/Reproductive Health, Maternal/Newborn Health, Adolescent Health, Child Health, Malaria, WASH, or Nutrition. Deliverables could include presentations, technical reports/briefs, journal articles, or commentaries.
– Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external colleagues. Able to work as a member of a team and independently.
