About the Position

Dexis is seeking a Business Development (BD) Associate to work closely with the Lead BD Manager and the wider BD Support Services (BDSS) team to support new business development efforts at Dexis. Key areas of responsibility include supporting BDSS daily operations such as tracking new opportunities, refining BD tools and processes, conducting desk research, and other administrative projects.

This is a temporary role with an expected duration of 4-5 months, roughly May through mid-September 2023, to cover for a team member’s parental leave. This position can be remote, based in the United States. This is preferably a full-time position, though part-time candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

BD Systems and Processes (30%)

  • Provides general operations and administrative assistance to the BDSS team
  • Conducts corporate opportunity tracking and sharing of new business opportunities and intelligence.
  • Supports the maintenance and improvement of BDSS team tools, processes, and information platforms including SharePoint and Salesforce.
  • Maintains filing system for administrative, financial, and technical documents in Dexis BDSS knowledge management systems.
  • Provides administrative support such as reviewing and processing consultant invoices and expense reports.
  • Other administrative support as required.

Bid Support (30%)

  • Conducts desk research and analysis of business opportunities, target countries, clients, partners, and competitors, and drafts reports based on findings, as needed.
  • Reviews and formats CVs to support recruitment for proposals.
  • Works in concert with bid managers to perform timely administrative and coordination tasks for live bids.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate.
  • Understanding of international development, with sensitivity to and interest in other cultures and belief systems.
  • Excellent online research skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience supporting proposal development for USAID, Department of State, or other U.S. federal agencies and departments.
  • Experience using SharePoint and Salesforce.
  • Excellent computer and research, data analysis and synthesis, and presentation skills.
  • Interest and knowledge in technical areas such as stabilization and conflict mitigation; monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), institutional strengthening, rule of law, anti-corruption, and staff augmentation.
