About this opportunity…**
The British Red Cross has a fantastic new opportunity for a Volunteer Management Transformation Officer to join our Crisis and Emergency Response team where you will be responsible for the development of a higher quality day-to-day volunteer experience, to significantly improve retention, motivation and satisfaction and deliver the best possible outcome for our volunteers.
You will work collaboratively with Volunteer Mobilisation to design and embed new volunteer management quality standards and ensure staff volunteer managers have the skills to successfully manage volunteers, taking a co-production approach with service volunteers and engagement with relevant stakeholders to share learning across the organisation.
You will shape a staff development plan to nurture skills, knowledge and confidence and to embed volunteer management quality standards as set by Volunteer Mobilisation, including reviewing staff job descriptions to ensure appropriate volunteer management responsibilities and skills are incorporated and recruited to, with the capacity to deliver.
Please note that this role will cover the Northern Ireland region, and will involve hybrid working between home and a British Red Cross office located within this region, therefore candidates should consider their proximity to the location when applying for this vacancy.

- You are data savvy, with experience of creating and using data and insight, sharing this with stakeholder and using it to inform the work of colleagues
- You can demonstrate knowledge of volunteer management in a service delivery context and you are a collaborator, able to build positive relationships with colleagues, including volunteers
- You are confident producing resource plans and applying and operationalising strategy
- You can demonstrate excellent planning skills, managing multiple projects and stakeholders and applying governance effectively to attain outcomes
- You have an analytical mind, and have applied knowledge of metrics used in service delivery to measure performance
- You communicate in a clear and engaging way, keeping people informed in the right way at the right time and you’re able to listen as much as speak, making the complex easy to understand
