The Position

As the Associate Director, Communications and Public Diplomacy you will:

· Drive the delivery of high-quality public diplomacy events and products such as project launches and openings. This requires up-to-date political awareness, nuance and understanding across the Indo-Pacific region and of the Australian Government political protocol, ministerial relations and high-stakes logistics arrangements.

· Develop high-quality multi-media communications in support of business development strategies and execution of activities to secure new contracts and grow revenue for the business.

· Be highly motivated, demonstrate strong self-discipline, and work with minimal supervision.

· Engage in and support the dynamics of Tetra Tech’s business through teamwork and demonstrate initiative and flexibility in their engagements.

· Collaborate with the leadership team, senior leaders and staff across Tetra Tech as a senior advisor on communications best practice, strategy and execution.

· Build and maintain meaningful relationships with clients and stakeholders.

· Grow and develop the practice area, engaging in four major areas of work for Tetra Tech; New Business Development, Program Management, Technical Excellence and Organisational and Professional Development.

The Person**

We are seeking a highly motivated, autonomous and collaborative person, who will engage in and support the dynamics of the business through teamwork.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

· Tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline.

· Demonstrated experience to understand donor policies on branding aid projects and initiatives – for managing contractors, NGOs, multilaterals and other partners.

· Proven record of developing strategic communications planning and contributing significantly to, or coordinating, relevant policy development and strategic planning at a senior level.

· Proven ability to manage media and communications successfully in a fast-moving environment.

· Change agent with advanced influencing, negotiating and coaching skills – ability to facilitate, inspire and motivate others to collaborate and improve communications practices or approaches.

· Highly developed, proven written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated significant experience providing senior advisory, high-level communication and project leadership and support to executive or high levels of government.

· Proven ability to lead a team, including supervising staff, mentoring, and managing workloads.

· Proven ability to research and analyse complex and high-level information and prepare concise, sensitive and accurate advice.

· Demonstrated experience in building a culture across a business that supports business objectives.

· Superior organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, meet tight deadlines and be comfortable working effectively under pressure with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Exceptional interpersonal skills, and experience working in partnership with business leaders and key stakeholders.

· Demonstrated ability to plan, draft, edit and proof-read information to publication standard.

· Demonstrate appropriate and professional workplace behaviours in line with the Code of Conduct.
