Habitat for Humanity Africa Area Office is currently seeking to recruit a Communications Intern. The intern will be based in Kenya.

Working time: approximately 40hrs per week (flexible)

Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities

As a Communications Intern you will provide support to the Communications team in the Africa Area Office:

  • Support in development and production of multimedia content including website and social media content for various platforms
  • Assist in managing and updating the Africa Area Office social media platforms and web page
  • Assist in production of information and promotional material.
  • Support with administrative and logistics tasks for the Africa communications unit including support for events and campaigns
  • Assist in compiling programme case studies and success stories.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • BA Degree in Communication or Journalism from a recognized academic institution (Preference will be given to recent graduates with an interest in working for an INGO)
  • Excellent command of English (knowledge of French will be an added advantage)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including digital storytelling and content generation
  • Strong social media management skills
  • Good photography skills
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to use graphics software is an added advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively with a variety of teams in a multi-cultural work environment.
  • Ability to travel
