Heartland Alliance International (HAI) is seeking one consultant to support the organization’s expansion to Honduras.
Description of Heartland Alliance International
Heartland Alliance International (HAI) implements programs in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and in Chicago at the Marjorie Kovler Center. HAI’s technical areas include mental health and psychosocial support, gender equity, access to justice, and stigma-free HIV prevention, care, and treatment. Across all programs, HAI promotes progressive, innovative approaches to human rights protections and gender equity. Our mission is to secure the rights and well-being of marginalized people and communities.
Time Frame of Services
Expected from between December 2022 – March 2023, expected level of effort (LOE) is approximately 10 hours per month.
Summary of Scope of Work
In conjunction with HAI staff, the consultant will:
- Collaborate with HAI staff and legal counsel to register HAI in Honduras.
- Act as HAI’s Legal Representative in Honduras.
- Identify and connect HAI with potential donors, multilateral organizations, university partners, private sector partners, international and local NGOs, and CSOs, among others working in migration, prevention and response to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Gender Equity, Access to Justice, Stigma-free Healthcare, Early Childhood Development, Child Protection, and Climate Change.
This is a temporary consultancy position, however, the candidate may be considered for a full-time position in 2023.
Deliverables:
The consultant will complete the following deliverables:
- HAI registration in Honduras.
- A map of potential donors, multilateral organizations, university partners, private sector partners, international and local NGOs, and CSOs, among others working in migration, prevention and response to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Gender Equity, Access to Justice, Stigma-free Healthcare, Early Childhood Development, Child Protection, and Climate Change.
- Email introductions between HAI and organizations identified.
Education and/or Experience:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field, such as International Development, Human Rights, Social Work, or other related field.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in a senior program management role implementing international development activities.
- Prior experience representing an international organization in a Country Director or Manager role is desired.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Spanish is desired.
- Candidate must be a Honduran citizen or Permanent Resident of Honduras.
Payment Schedule:
Payment will be provided following receipt of invoice after services have been delivered.
