As we embark upon this new and exciting period of change and growth, we’re looking for an Azure cloud based SQL DBA to join the team. The role of SQL DBA (Azure, IaaS, Paas)

As a Database Administrator you will be working in an agile team, following scrum practices and responsible for helping to maintain availability on our current and legacy services, whilst working with the teams to design and build new strategic services based on Azure cloud technologies. Delivering and maintaining the database estate across traditional and cloud-based technologies. Ensuring the recoverability of the estate via backup strategy, high availability, and disaster recovery approaches. Investigate, resolve, and perform root cause analysis on service outages, resulting in permanent resolution whilst identifying improvements Develop automation to deliver repeatable deployment and maintenance Working within industry standard source control technologies Work across internal and external environments that are managed in-house, as well as by 3rd party suppliers. Identify and remove technical debt to improve the efficiency of systems. Ability to work collaboratively with other DBAs About you (and what we are looking for)

Firstly you’re an experienced SQL Database Administrator who takes a flexible approach to tasks and team working. As we’re in transition we’re seeking a DBA that comes from a traditional DBA background but has made the transition from managing SQL Server estates on-prem to the cloud. Of course we’re a team and we share and develop our skills and knowledge to get the work done but you’ll bring cloud and specifically Azure SQL expertise. Azure SQL Server database administration in a high availability environment. Performance tuning within an expanding and busy production environment. Capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery planning. Database security and its application across multiple environments. Benefits
